Retribution
The dolphin sanctuary is situated in near cadaques, meant for the retiring dolphins who won’t be able to survive in the wild. It consists out of five units following the contour lines of the coast. The work units are located close together North/West on the site. The Eastern part is occupied by the housing and the common areas
The buildings are based on a wooden structure. Also for the exterior the best fitting was wood; vertical oak hardwood cladding. To make for a more dynamic apperarance teh width of the boards alternates from ten to thirty centimeter. These are fixed to the wall using nails with a polished round head. For the roofing zinc combines very nicely with the vertical boards, reflecting in the double standing seam. Both materials age beautifully. Large windows stretching all the way to the roof create an open connection with the outside surroundings.
